Prayer in a Time of Discernment
Gracious and loving God,
We give you thanks for bringing us to this point
of mutual discernment.
Be with the Search Committee members
as they prepare to engage with the candidates who have offered themselves to this process.
Give them your grace, wisdom, and peace.
Be with the candidates
as they too seek to discern if they are called to lead
this congregation.
Give them your grace, wisdom, and peace.
May they and we be guided by your Spirit
As this process continues
Save us from a false sense of urgency for closure.
Give us confidence in our decisions,
Knowing that you are preparing us for better things than we can ask or imagine.
And in all ways may we give honor and glory to you
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Amen.
