Please note from the 1st Sunday of Advent through the last Sunday of March, the first service is 8:30 a.m. instead of 8:00 a.m.

Holy Spirit to serve in the world.

We will love and welcome ALL!

Emmanuel Episcopal Church has received the     "Ten (10) Day Re-Entry Notice" from the Dioceses     of Eastern and Western Michigan.  It is now time to assess what Re-Entry should/will look like and act accordingly. Our Re-Entry Committee has prepared a Re-Opening Plan.  Please review the Plan at your convenience.  We ask for your continued patience and understanding during this challenging time.

Our Strategic Priority: To create opportunities, vision, and a culture of being disciples – using our God given gifts with joy and passion at Emmanuel and in the community.

While no website can answer every question, this site is designed to give you a sense of who we are and what is important to us. Feel free to look around!

I am the “bridge priest,” serving between the departure of our interim rector and the arrival of a permanent rector. Please be gentle; mine is a very part-time situation, and I am working out of our cottage near Cross Village with horrible satellite internet, next to no cell service, but a lot of natural beauty. The rector search process is currently paused, as we await the time when in-person interviews may again be conducted.

In the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are maintaining very minimal essential functions only. Our able office manager is working from home, and we are posting worship videos online. Meetings of all groups and guilds are suspended. Our pantry and feeding ministries are also temporarily suspended.

We have had one parishioner infected with the virus, but she has been discharged and is slowly recovering at home. Our prayers have proved beneficial. We have an active and dedicated team who offer pastoral care, and will do our best to serve you however we can.

We invite you to join us in praise and worship of the Triune God at 10 a.m. on Sundays for now. This will be posted on the parish’s Facebook page (“Emmanuel Episcopal Church-Petoskey, Michigan”). The Facebook page can also be found with this link: www.facebook.com/pg/Emmanuel-Episcopal-Church-Petoskey-Michigan-889155207960130.  This is a public page. Some weeks will be Morning Prayer, and we plan to experiment with an online Holy Eucharist, with the possibility of “spiritual communion.” We hope to be back in the house of the church soon, and we are planning a big celebration for Pentecost, which is May 31 this year.

If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to Leah Cell, office manager (leah@eecpetoskey.org or 231-347-2350 x110) or me (barriebates@gmail.com).
